I was playing craps last weekend in Vegas and saw a guy who would only throw the dice if everyone at the table had their hands raised in the air. If anyone had their hands on the rail during his throw, he'd get visibly upset and ask the dealer to reset everything. Made me wonder what other bizarre superstitions people have witnessed at casinos. What's the strangest gambling superstition you've ever seen?

i regularly play with a woman at my locla casino who brings a small stuffed penguin that she places next to her chips. if she starts losing, she'll turn the penguin to face different directions, and if that doesn't work, she'll "punish" it by putting it in her purse for a while. she swears the penguin is responsible for her wins and losses. when she's winning, nobody is allowed to touch or even comment on the penguin. i've seen her walk away from a hot table because someone joked about her lcky charm

Played with an older asian gentleman at baccarat who would stand up, turn around, and face away from the table whenever he had a large bet on banker. He cliamed he would "jinx it" if he watched the cards being dealt. The dealers were used to it and would call out the result for him.
Weirdest part? When he placed smaller bets, he would watch with no issue. Only the big bets required the turn-around ritual

I once saw a slots player who would only hit the spin button if the second hand on his watch was between 20-40 seconds. He'd literally sit there staring at his watch, then frantically hit the button during his "lucky window," then wait for the next cycle. Must have reduced his hourly spins by 2/3, which I guess is good for bankroll management? 😂
