Stake.us Review
Stake Casino is truly legendary in its own right. Some people love it, some hate it, and some just tease it. They have become trendsetters in the world of crypto and sweepstake casinos. Their staff is featured in magazines, and their antics make the news. We will describe some of these stories a bit later, but for now, let’s share our own experience of playing at Stake Casino.
First of all, it’s important to note that this review will focus specifically on Stake.us, as there are also Stake.com, Stake.ca, with plans for other regional platforms from this holding. We will write separately about the other platforms.
Stake and other crypto casinos (that do not allow deposits in fiat) are a result of regulators’ greed. Local regulators are currently doing everything they can to prevent casinos from obtaining licenses, and they are doing it slowly. However, the lack of a local license does not mean there is no license at all. Typically, these casinos simply get licensed in another jurisdiction, which is why they are also called offshore casinos.
The Success Story of Stake Casino
These guys first caught my attention during the Twitch streamer era. They had a well-structured advertising campaign. My favorite streamers skillfully drew me into Stake. Well, not just me – Drake himself occasionally placed bets ranging from $300K to $1 million (he played so hard that he even became an official ambassador for this casino). Stake.com collaborated so expertly with Twitch streamers that when the platform blocked the ability to stream about casinos, Stake launched its own platform – Kick.
As of today, Stake has grown to such an extent that it buys advertising on Formula 1, they are the largest offshore casino in the Netherlands, Belgium, and many other countries in Europe. They have built a truly significant brand and are now doing everything they can to maintain their reputation.
Registration at Stake.us and KYC
First, you can only play at Stake.us if you are a resident of the United States. If not, we recommend trying to register at Stake.com (which we will cover in a separate review). On some forums or Discord, you might read that players have bypassed this restriction by using a VPN or purchasing an already leveled account. We strongly advise against doing this for several reasons:
- Stake can easily detect when you are using a VPN, which could lead to your account being flagged for verification or restricted from playing at the casino.
- Stake may periodically conduct a double-check and request additional proof of your location (such as bills in your name from the relevant country), and you may not be able to provide this proof if your location is fake.
- It’s unethical to try to deceive a casino; sooner or later, they will realize it and won’t forgive you.
So, make sure to use your real information.
The registration process is incredibly simple and easy. For some accounts Stake may require you to provide proof of your location right away, and I believe this is fair because some casinos allow you to make deposits, but when it comes to withdrawals, they start checking everything, which can be very frustrating. Isn’t it better to do it BEFORE depositing? After completing the verification and KYC process, you can start playing.
To access the casino and perform any actions related to deposits or withdrawals, you will need to enable two-factor authentication (2FA). In practice, everything works very quickly and takes no more than a few seconds, especially compared to casinos that operate without 2FA. However, this significantly increases your security. So, in my opinion, it’s the right move and beneficial for the player.
Exclusive Games at Stake.us
Unfortunately, unlike Stake.com, which offers sports betting, Stake.us is purely a crypto or sweepstake casino. However, in terms of the number of slots, live dealer games, and specialty games, Stake.us is on par with its older counterpart. Recently, Stake.com/us launched its own poker room and has already reported significant growth in its player base.
I honestly admit that I haven’t had the chance to play in the poker room here yet, but I regularly play Aviator and Plinko on Stake.us. The gameplay is smooth, which is something I can’t say about some other casinos where lag and bugs sometimes lead to losses that aren’t my fault (like when I hit cash out on Aviator, and it takes a long time to respond, resulting in the plane taking off).
Additionally, Stake offers literally all the slots I enjoy playing, and so far, I haven’t encountered a game that I wanted to play and couldn’t find. It’s also worth noting the provably fair system, which ensures that the games are fair.
The Process of Depositing and Withdrawing Funds on Stake.us
Since Stake.us is not a classic crypto casino but rather a sweepstake casino, the process of depositing money is somewhat different. In a traditional crypto casino, players can deposit money directly and start playing immediately. However, at Stake.us, you buy gold Stake coins, which you then use for playing.
When you want to withdraw your money, you simply exchange your Stake coins for crypto coins and initiate a withdrawal to your crypto wallet. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), it is not possible to deposit or withdraw funds in fiat currency on Stake.us.
